These terms explain what NextChapter provides, what it does not provide, and the choices you have when you use the service.

What NextChapter does
In plain wordsNextChapter helps you stay connected with your program team, find verified resources, complete check-ins, set goals, and use an AI Companion for general support.
You may use NextChapter only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not harm other people, interfere with the service, or try to access another person's account or information.
Important safety and health limits
In plain wordsNextChapter is a support and connection tool. It is not an emergency service, medical service, mental-health provider, diagnosis tool, or treatment service.
Do not rely on NextChapter for urgent or professional care. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911. In the United States, call or text 988 for suicide or mental-health crisis support. The Companion can make mistakes and does not replace a doctor, therapist, caseworker, attorney, or other qualified professional.
Chats are private except when safety is at risk or a crisis is flagged. In that situation, NextChapter may share a short relevant excerpt with authorized program staff so a real person can respond. Read the safety page for details.
Your account and information
In plain wordsKeep your sign-in information private and tell your program team if you think someone else has used your account.
Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who can see it, and your data rights. You can request account deletion in the app or follow the instructions on our account deletion page.
Availability and changes
In plain wordsWe work to keep NextChapter available and accurate, but no online service is guaranteed to be uninterrupted or error-free.
Resource details and program availability can change. We may update the service or these terms when the program, law, or safety requirements change. Material changes will be communicated through the app or your program team, and the effective date above will be updated.
Ending use
In plain wordsYou may stop using NextChapter and request deletion of your account. A program may limit or end access when required for safety, security, law, or program operations.
Some records may be retained where required by law, safety holds, audit requirements, or program obligations. Questions about these terms can be sent to privacy@fostersupport.org.
